Stormy Sunday

It was a busy and very stormy Sunday May 16th, 2010. Most of the severe weather was in the form of hail and wind, but flooding was the primary concern even though the region has been abnormally dry. I decide to play with my Canon EOS Rebel Ti1 which does shoot 1080p HD video, but decided to use the EOS utility to take a 15.1 megapixel picture every 10 second. Then after an hour and a half and  taking 700 pictures I turned them into a movie. Playing the pictures in sequence at .125 duration each. This was my second attempt at creating a time-lapse using a still digital camera and here were my results.

The rainfall was much need and with the rain continuing today expect our rainfall deficit to slowly return to normal.I had 1.37” of rainfall here at my house and here was the Doppler radar estimated rainfall through 10am. The greens are 1” or more and the red is closer to 4”.
