Winter Forecast 2010-2011
It’s that time of the year again for my annual winter forecast for the Southeast including the Carolinas. Remember this is for the whole winter and no matter what it ends up being like there are always extremes over the entire winter. Even if you have a really cold and snow winter like last year there are a few weeks of a winter thaw. This winter won’t be as cold as last winter which would be hard to do since it was the coldest winter since 1968. I am generally forecasting a milder winter but not necessarily a less snowy or icy winter. I actually see ice becoming our primary threat this season for the piedmont. With still good chances for lots of northwest flow snows along the entire Appalachian mountain chain. So lets get to the maps and forecast I promise no dart boards or dice were harmed in the making of this forecast! LOL
